This three bedroom, 2500 sq ft space was completely empty when the project began.
Construction started on June 1st, and the client moved in Labor Day weekend, bringing nothing but their personal effects and favorite book collection (everything else was new from the ground up).
All built-ins and several pieces of furniture were custom designed and executed to exacting standards while the remainder of the apartment’s accoutrements were acquired: furniture, rugs, draperies and lighting, sheets, towels dishes and even the silver.
Ultimately the goal was to create a space that felt comfortable, powerful and would suit a modern, city lifestyle. Combining aesthetic influences of Asia and the Art Deco movement with a clean sense of order, I created a contemporary take on traditional US style – but with Continental flair.
